In an effort to strengthen ties and foster collaboration with national banking institutions, Dr. Fadi Abu Diak, General Manager of Awj Financial Services, Consulting, and Arbitration, visited Dr. Imad Al-Saadi, General Manager of the Islamic Bank of Palestine. The meeting brought together banking expertise, academic experience, and a shared vision for developing the Islamic banking sector in Palestine.
Dr. Imad Al-Saadi is a highly qualified Palestinian banking professional who has combined a gradual career in banking with specialized academic training, culminating in his leadership role at the Islamic Bank of Palestine. He also holds a doctorate in Islamic Economics and Finance from Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University, where Dr. Fadi Abu Diak and Dr. Imad Al-Saadi were doctoral candidates. This university has contributed significantly to the training and development of numerous specialists in Islamic Economics and Finance.
The meeting addressed the experience of the Islamic Bank of Palestine in investing in human capital and developing its banking staff. It highlighted the bank's commitment, under the leadership of Dr. Al-Saadi, to promoting financial inclusion and disseminating Islamic banking culture and awareness. The bank also demonstrated its ability to continue operating, developing, and responding flexibly and efficiently to the successive crises and challenges that Palestine and the region have witnessed in recent years.
Furthermore, the meeting reviewed the progress achieved by the Awj Company and introduced its digital platform, which provides a specialized environment for professional training and development. The network of agreements and partnerships Awj has established both locally and internationally was also discussed, most notably its collaboration with the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI) and the International Islamic Center for Reconciliation and Arbitration. This strengthens Awj's position as a specialized Palestinian center of expertise that seeks to connect the local market with regional and international expertise, standards, and institutions.
Dr. Imad Al-Saadi expressed his pride in the achievements and development that Awj has witnessed in such a short period. He commended Dr. Fadi Abu Diak's academic, banking, and professional career, as well as the extensive experience and local and international connections he has accumulated. He emphasized the importance of having specialized Palestinian institutions that contribute to developing expertise and serving the Islamic finance and economic sector.
The meeting reflects a long-standing professional and academic relationship and a shared vision that believes the development of Islamic banking is not limited to developing products and services, but also relies on investing in human capital, building capacity, and disseminating knowledge, ultimately leading to a more innovative Islamic financial sector capable of serving Palestinian society and the economy.
